Privacy Policy

When you create an account or use MarkBot, we collect:

• Account data — your name and email address.
• Uploaded content — exam papers and any marking rubrics you provide.
• Payment data — billing details, processed securely by Stripe. We never store card numbers.
• Usage data — pages marked, credit balance, session logs.

We use your information only to operate and improve the service:

• Process your exam papers through AI and return results.
• Manage your account, credits, and payment history.
• Send transactional emails (marking complete, low credits, etc.).
• Diagnose technical issues and improve accuracy.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your papers to train models.

Uploaded exam papers are stored in Supabase (EU region) and are tied to your account. You can delete them at any time. Marking results are retained until you delete them or close your account.

All data in transit is encrypted with TLS. Stored files are encrypted at rest. Access is restricted by row-level security — only you can read your papers.

We share data with the following processors, and only to the extent needed:

• Google Gemini — receives paper images/text to perform marking. Google's enterprise API terms prohibit training on submitted data.
• Stripe — handles payment processing. We pass your billing info; we never store it ourselves.
• Supabase — provides database and file storage. Data is hosted in the EU.

You can, at any time:

• Export all your data from your account settings.
• Delete individual papers or full marking batches.
• Close your account and have all data permanently erased.
• Contact us to correct any inaccurate personal information.

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. No third-party analytics scripts are loaded.
